Robert Dawson has sent in the programme for the Autumn Fair held in September 1957 (under Miscellanea). Also there are satellite photographs obtained by winding back Google Earth to earlier imagery, this time for 2007 when the school was still standing.
The Centaur for Spring Term 1968 can now be downloaded thanks to Andrew Turner. This is Number 73 and the publication now appears to be an annual rather than a biannual occurrence. Staff notes have been updated but there are others mentioned in the text who must have started in the years for which we do not yet have a copy of the magazines.
Avete/Valete seems to have been dropped in the late 1960s editions of The Centaur, thereby lessening the significance of the magazine as a publication of record.
Robert Dawson has provided a circular on adoption of the ‘new’ uniform and photographs of various items – in Miscellanea.
I trust former pupils of the 1950s and early 1960s have recovered from the shock resulting from the discovery in the 1969 magazine that sixth-formers were allowed out of the school grounds at lunchtime.
