I found this framed drawing for sale on eBay. I have photographed it and uploaded it to the Miscellanea page. The label states it is by Dorothy Goodman, a Fellow of the Nottingham Society of Artists. It was commissioned by the Education Department for a booklet ( scan also be found on the Miscellanea page). published in October 1979. Written on the back: ‘Framed, October, – 1979 – J.C.G.

Thanks to Barrie Shelton (1955-1962] a number of new entries have been made in the obituaries page.

Thank to Martin Phillips who provided scans from France, we have three ‘missing’ copies of The Centaur uploaded and ready to view and/or download. They are No 69 Summer 1965, 70 Spring 1966 and 71 Summer 1966.

These are the first ones in a searchable pdf format (I will change all the others eventually).

The first 25 obituaries of former pupils have been added, thanks to Garry Humphreys and to my finding some while searching for other HMGS material. They are in a short form with links to obituaries on other sites.

Photographs from Martyn Shaw have been added on the Photographs and Sports pages respectively.

Martyn Shaw has supplied two Centaurs: Summer Term 1970 which seems to have been the last in the traditional style and size; 1974-1975, the first intake of comprehensive pupils. Added to the Miscellanea Page is his 1974-75 Fixture List and School Calendar.

Chris Chambers has added a note to the entry for Vic Gladwin on the Staff page.

Terry Glover found an old Mellish library book in his loft. Who was the original owner? Have a look on the Miscellanea page.

David Mundy [1950-57] has provided new material. There are school play programmes and photographs for 1951-56, a photograph of the RAF section of the CCF at camp and of the winning .22 CCF shooting team. He has also supplied less creased scans of the 1955 Panora photograph (which can be downloaded). He has also added some names to a photograph of VSc on the site.

I have taken the opportunity to create a new page for school plays.

There have been changes in the way WordPress works and I still have some tidying up to do including moving items in Miscellanea to the Sports page.
